The shape is a result
A heart catches the eye, but milk texture carries that shape. When liquid and air are poorly integrated, the pour becomes harder to control. Observe the surface and flow before focusing on a pattern.
What do large bubbles tell you?
Visible large bubbles can indicate uneven texture. The aim is a glossy, flowing mixture that is integrated throughout. Consider steam-wand position together with movement in the pitcher.
Height and flow
Pitcher distance, flow rate and cup angle influence a pour. Focus on one aspect in each practice to understand the movement. Changing everything at once obscures what caused the result.
Different drinks behave differently
Different milks and plant-based drinks can have different foaming and flavor characteristics. Follow storage and use instructions. Clean the steam wand according to equipment guidance before and after use, and work carefully around hot surfaces and steam.
